The secret alphabet / codes of Marin Marais
We discovered secret codes in the music of Marin Marais that allowed us to get a revolutionary view on his confidential mastery. Till now only his students were let in on the secret.
Through meticulously decrypting the codes we obtained a time machine enabling us to travel back to the 18th century, follow the footsteps of the master himself and assist one of his private performances. Together with my colleague David Bergmüller we will share some of the secrets with you and enable you to take a glimpse at Marais´ music room.
There you will hear newly discovered still unpublished pieces as well as masterworks from his five Pièces de viole. Among the highlights are Les voix humaines, Carillon, Grand ballet and Saillie du Caffée.
